Thank you, thank you, thank you to the students who are contacting me when they need help with their assignments or to the students who are contacting me with technology tips as I post assignments.  Thank you to all of the parents who are regularly contacting me through email.  I have posted and will continue to post some fun activities for spring break so keep checking back.  Please email me pictures of creative “stay-at-home” spring break activities.  Let’s keep in touch!

Online Review and Resources

Hello, 5th graders!  Tomorrow we will begin a new journey together…online review and instruction.  Each day I will add new information for you.  Feel free to email any questions that you might have!  Be safe and stay healthy!

Congratulations to….

Nathaniel for winning 1st place in the Hawkins County Farm Bureau Women’s essay contest — “Why is Agriculture Important?”  Nathaniel’s essay will be submitted for the state level competition.  Also, congratulations to Baylee for 2nd place in the contest.  Way to go!!!!!

2019-2020 Essay Contest for 5th grade

Sponsored by:  The Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom and the Tennessee Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee (Hawkins County)

State Standards:  This contest is designed for students to display their skills that correlate with reading standards for informational text, language standards and writing standards.

Deadline:  Essays will be picked up by contact person on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019

4:45-5:30  “Move In” to the lockers

5:30-6:20  First Meeting Session to meet Homeroom Teacher & receive information

OR

6:30-7:20 Second Meeting Session to meet Homeroom Teacher & receive information

***More information about “Move In” Locker Evening will be mailed to the students.

 

 

 

Welcome new fifth graders!

Things to know:

*The 2019-2020 fifth grade supply list can be found on my edublog.  Click on the “Supply List 2019-2020” page.

*RCS will host a Parent Open House on August 8 from 5:30-7:30.  A short session will be held in the new gym from 5:30-6:00.  At 6:00 all parents will be dismissed to meet with each homeroom teacher.

Valentine’s Day Party

A note from the parent volunteers of the Valentine’s Day party:

Please send$3 to help cover the cost of pizza and other supplies for the Valentine’s Day party.

***Students may give the money to their 1st period teacher, and the money will be passed along to the parent volunteers.

 

Report Cards and Parent Teacher Conferences

Students received their report cards today; please check in the binders for those.  Just a reminder that Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Friday.  Time confirmations have been sent home with students.  If you requested a conference, check with your child for your conference time.  We look forward to meeting with you.
